Hatching your own chickens is an exciting and interesting journey and once you have some experience in keeping chickens, it’s something you might like to try! It’s a great way to renew your flock without having to purchase chicks, and you will learn a lot in the process!
Under a broody hen is the best way to hatch your own eggs, however, if your girls aren’t playing ball then you will need an incubator! An incubator is an enclosure that maintains the right temperature, humidity and ventilation required for the eggs to hatch. You can also get ones that turn or rotate the eggs several times a day, which is necessary to help the embryo to stay properly positioned in the egg, so it doesn’t become stuck to the shell.

Starter Pack 1 provides the ideal equipment necessary to get you started in small scale egg incubation and rearing. It’s easy to use and great fun! Based on the manual turn Mini Eco Incubator.

Mini II Advance Starter Pk2
Starter Pack 2 provides the ideal equipment necessary to get you started in small scale egg incubation and rearing. Based on the Mini II Advance automatic turning incubator.
Key features:
- Mini II Advance Automatic Turn Incubator – a fan assisted egg incubator holding up to 7 eggs which are turned automatically. Up to 12 smaller eggs (e.g. pheasant or quail) can be accommodated using the optional small egg disk. The combination of a simple, yet accurate, menu driven digital control, fan assistance, carefully directed airflow result in a machine which is deceptively sophisticated yet convenient and extremely easy to use. The digital display shows incubator temperature (in °C or °F), incubation temperature alarm and power failure alarm. The user can alter settings to control incubation temperature, temperature units, turning interval, turning angle, the number of days your eggs take to hatch from fresh and the high and low temperature alarm limits. If the number of days to hatch isn’t known then the automatic turning can be controlled by the user and easily turned off when the first egg cracks. The high-quality clear top allows you to see every second of an egg hatching from every angle.

Wonderful garden and poultry centre. We recently went here to buy two ducks and two chickens. The staff member we spoke to was incredibly knowledgeable and seemed very passionate about his job. It was a great experience and will be going back again soon to say "hi" and buy some more poultry feed. The cafe is lovely and we enjoy eating there, though the wait time can be a little uncomfortable for the kids if you go at a busy period.
